Avett Jackson and Bennett Rabern, Morgan County Charter Schools Students, Killed in Holiday Weekend ATV Accident

Morgan County Charter Schools has shared the tragic news of the death of two students, Avett Jackson and Bennett Rabern, both from Morgan County Middle School, following an ATV accident over the holiday weekend. The incident also left another child with serious injuries.

In a statement, Morgan County Charter Schools expressed deep sorrow over the loss:

“The Morgan County Charter Schools community is mourning the loss of two of the best of Morgan County due to a tragic accident that occurred over the holiday weekend. There are no words that can ease the sorrow and sadness we feel right now.”

The school extended its sympathies to the families and friends of both young men, promising additional support and resources to help students cope with this devastating loss. Counselors were made available at Morgan County Middle School to assist students, staff, and the broader community.

On social media, Morgan County Basketball honored their star player, Avett Jackson, known by his jersey number #3. The team’s tribute on their official page read:

“Today we mourn the loss of one of our own, Avett Jackson. Please join us in praying for the Jackson family, our players, our coaches, and our community,” followed by a request for peace and comfort for both boys’ families.

Jackson was also recognized for his achievements as a junior angler on the Morgan County High School fishing team, which also issued a statement of condolence. The community of Morgan County is coming together to support each other during this time of profound grief.
