Montclair, NJ – Lorenzo Rocco Gangala, known for his role on the reality TV series “Jerseylicious,” has passed away. The news was confirmed by former co-star Tracy DiMarco via her Instagram story, where she shared a poignant then-and-now video tribute to Gangala.
“Fly high Lorenzo, taken way too soon,” DiMarco wrote, mourning the loss of her former colleague who had been a significant part of the show’s early seasons. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Gangala, who had Italian heritage, left “Jerseylicious” in 2012, before the show concluded its run in 2017. Post-show, he pursued a career in landscape and construction supervision in New York. He was an alumnus of Rutgers University – Newark, holding a Bachelor of Business Administration.
His life took a dramatic turn last year when he was involved in a severe motorcycle accident in East Orange. The accident, which occurred in August, involved a collision between two motorbikes, leaving Gangala in critical condition. Images from the aftermath depicted the gravity of his injuries, but Gangala credited his survival to divine intervention.
In posts shared on social media, Gangala expressed gratitude for his survival, stating, “On August 27 my life completely changed. Some may say I was lucky but the truth is I was saved by the mercy of God and God alone.” He used his experience to reconnect with his faith and encourage others to do the same, writing, “If this post helps one or two people get closer to God then I’ve done my job. Appreciate every day you have because every day is a blessing. If God saved a sinner like me, he will do the same for you.”
