TUCSON, Arizona – The Irish dance community is in mourning following the announcement of the death of Darren Maguire, the founder and owner of the Maguire Academy of Irish Dance. Maguire, who had established the academy in Tucson in 2006, passed away surrounded by his family, as confirmed by the studio in a heartfelt statement.

Originally from Seven Kings, Redbridge, United Kingdom, Maguire brought his passion for Irish dance to the American Southwest, aiming to provide “high-quality dance education” to both the local Tucson community and further afield. His journey from a lead dancer in the renowned Riverdance troupe to a beloved teacher and studio owner was marked by dedication to the art of Irish dance.

“We’re devastated to share the news that our beloved teacher, studio owner and friend, Darren Maguire, has passed away,” the studio stated. “Rest in peace, Darren.”
