FORT PIERCE, Fla. – The trial of Ryan Wesley Routh, accused in the second assassination attempt on President-elect Donald Trump, has been rescheduled by a federal judge from February 10 to September 8, 2025. This update was confirmed through court documents filed by Judge Aileen Cannon.

Routh is facing five charges, one of which is attempting to assassinate a major presidential candidate. He has entered a plea of not guilty to all charges. This new trial date comes almost a year after the incident at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach on September 15, 2024.

The specific reasons behind the delay were not immediately made public, but such delays in high-profile cases are often due to the need for thorough preparation, including the examination of substantial amounts of evidence, securing witness testimony, and addressing various legal motions.
