MUNSTER, IN – The craft beer community is mourning the loss of Simon Floyd, one of the visionary founders of the renowned Indiana-based brewery, Three Floyds. News of Simon’s passing was shared across various platforms, including social media, where friends and fans alike paid their respects.
A heartfelt tribute was posted by a former classmate of Floyd on Facebook, accompanied by a photo of him enjoying one of Three Floyds’ signature beers, Zombie Dust. He wrote, “Here is to my high school friend, Simon Floyd, a Zombie Dust in your honor. May your name remain a blessing, always!!”
Simon Floyd, together with his brother Nick and father Mike, established Three Floyds Brewing in 1996 in Hammond, Indiana. The brewery relocated to Munster in 2000, where it has since become a staple in the craft beer scene, celebrated for its unique and high-quality brews. Three Floyds has frequently been acclaimed as producing some of the world’s best beers, with accolades from numerous reviewers. Commercially, the brewery has also excelled, securing a place in the top 50 list of brewing companies by sales volume in 2018.
