Abena Osei-Asare the Deputy Finance Minister, in an interview made it known that the annoced 50 percent cut on cupons for government appointees will help us generate about GH₵52million.
She also explained that the measure is one of the remedy to achieve government’s deficit target of 7.4%.
In an interview this Thursday on Top Story, the deputy finance minister said government projected to obtain GH₵52 million due to the vast number of state appointees, including heads of State-Owned Enterprises to be affected by the new measure.
According to her, government has instituted these measures to reduce the 2022 Budget and hopes to extend some of the cuts in salaries and expenditures to the end of the year.
The Finance Minister on Thursday announced the 50% cut in fuel coupon allocation as part of measures to mitigate the economic hardship in the country.
