Xavi Simons open to staying at RB Leipzig after loan:

Xavi Simons has admitted that he is open to staying at RB Leipzig after his loan spell from Paris Saint-Germain expires.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder has made a bright start to his time in the Bundesliga, scoring two goals and providing two assists in his first seven appearances.

In an interview with Sky Germany, Simons said that he is enjoying his time at Leipzig and that he is focused on helping the club achieve success.

“You can’t predict anything in football,” he said. “No one knows what’s going to happen in a few months.

“But I already feel at home here. I enjoy my time here, I want to be successful and to make my mark on the club.”

Simons’ comments will come as a boost to Leipzig, who are keen to sign the player on a permanent basis.

The club’s sporting director, Christopher Vivell, has previously said that Simons is a “key player” for the future and that they are “very happy” with his progress.

Simons’ contract with PSG expires in 2027, so Leipzig would need to agree a transfer fee with the French club in order to sign him permanently.

However, given Simons’ impressive start to the season, it is likely that PSG would demand a significant fee for the player.

Leipzig will be hoping that Simons’ performances continue to improve over the next few months, in order to convince PSG to sell him at a reasonable price.
