Manchester, – Ghana international Antoine Semenyo is poised to complete a blockbuster £65 million transfer from Bournemouth to Manchester City, with all agreements in place and a medical scheduled for Thursday.

The 25-year-old forward, who has been one of the Premier League’s standout performers this season, will reportedly play his final game for Bournemouth on Wednesday night against Tottenham Hotspur at the Vitality Stadium. Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola acknowledged the likelihood of this being Semenyo’s farewell, stating, “I think it could be the last game… but there is nothing agreed and nothing signed right now.”

Sources indicate that Manchester City have triggered Semenyo’s £65m release clause – active only until January 10 – after outpacing interest from several top clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Tottenham. City were the only side to formally contact Bournemouth about the clause, and the Black Stars attacker has chosen to work under Pep Guardiola on a long-term contract.

Semenyo has enjoyed a breakout campaign on the south coast, scoring nine goals and providing three assists in the Premier League so far. His pace, power, and goal threat have made him a coveted target, and the move represents a significant profit for Bournemouth, who signed him from Bristol City for around £10m in 2023.

If the deal is finalized in time, Semenyo could make his City debut as early as this weekend in the FA Cup third round against Exeter City.

This signing would bolster Guardiola’s attacking options as City chase silverware on multiple fronts, marking one of the January window’s biggest deals. Exciting times ahead for the Ghanaian star and City fans alike!
